MyGymGate vs Gymdesk comes down to scope and currency. Gymdesk is the more complete product: class booking with waitlists, automatic card billing, a gym website, a store and a member app, from $75 to $200 a month in US dollars depending on member count. MyGymGate does less but is built for Indian gyms: QR or face check-in on an Android phone, expiry tracking, WhatsApp and email renewal reminders and a TV leaderboard for ₹399 a month with unlimited members. If your gym runs on classes and card billing, Gymdesk fits better. If you run an open gym and your problem is renewals, MyGymGate does that job for a fraction of the price.

A disclosure: we make MyGymGate. We've linked every Gymdesk fact to Gymdesk's own pages so you can check them, and the section on where MyGymGate falls short is meant seriously.

### Price

[Gymdesk's pricing page](https://gymdesk.com/pricing) is unusually clear. With Gymdesk Payments, it's $75 a month up to 50 members, $100 up to 100, $150 up to 150 and $200 up to 250, with custom pricing above that. Using your own payment processor costs more: $25 extra on the smaller plans and $40 extra on the 250-member plan. Every plan includes the full platform. There's no setup fee, no minimum term and no cancellation cost, and you can export your data from your account at any time. A branded member app is $100 a month. All prices are in US dollars.

### What it does

- **Members and martial arts**: digital waivers, belt tracking and single or bulk promotions, which Gymdesk calls one of its strongest features ([members features](https://gymdesk.com/features/members)).
- **Attendance**: self-service tablet, QR code, barcode and mass check-in ([attendance features](https://gymdesk.com/features/attendance)).
- **Booking**: classes and appointments with waitlists ([booking features](https://gymdesk.com/features/booking)).
- **Billing**: automatic collection, failed-payment recovery and overdue alerts.
- **Extras**: point of sale and online store, email marketing automation, a gym website on every plan, and a member app on iPhone and Android.
- **SMS**: a [usage-based add-on](https://gymdesk.com/features/sms) with a monthly number fee and a per-message rate.

### Where Gymdesk is stronger

For a class-based gym, it's a lot of software for the price. You get booking, billing, marketing and a website on one bill, and every feature is on every plan, so you don't hit an upgrade wall. The no-lock-in terms and self-serve export are friendly to gym owners. If you run a martial arts school, the belt and promotion tools are built in rather than bolted on.

### What to watch for

- **Staff use a browser.** Gymdesk's [help docs](https://docs.gymdesk.com/en/help/docs/adding-gymdesk-standalone-app) say the mobile app is for members and visitors; staff log in through a mobile browser saved to the home screen.
- **SMS costs extra**, and the per-message rates aren't published.
- **India.** Prices are in US dollars, and Gymdesk Payments works in the US and Canada; elsewhere you need an approved payment partner. We found no mention of INR, UPI, Razorpay or WhatsApp on Gymdesk's pricing or SMS pages. That doesn't mean it can't work for an Indian gym, but ask how you'd collect fees here before you commit.

**Pick Gymdesk if** you run a martial arts school or a class-based gym, want booking and card billing in one system, and are fine paying in dollars.

### Price

₹399 a month, one plan, everything included, unlimited members. No setup fee, free member import from Excel, a Google Sheet or photos of the register, and monthly billing with no long lock-in.

### What it does

- **Front desk**: any Android phone, even an old one, becomes a locked-down scanner. Members show a QR pass or use optional face check-in, which needs their consent and matches on the scanner phone. Check-in takes about 2 seconds, and expired plans are stopped at the door.
- **Retention**: the dashboard shows who's inside now, today's visits, who expires this week and who has gone quiet, plus an attendance calendar.
- **Reminders**: welcome, renewal and "we miss you" emails go out automatically in your gym's name. WhatsApp templates open with the message filled in, so you don't pay for the WhatsApp Business API.
- **Members**: a QR pass by email and a private tracker link with visits, streak and plan. No app to install.
- **TV**: a live leaderboard with streaks and weekly champions on any TV with a browser.
- **Owner and staff**: Android app and web dashboard with owner, staff and scanner roles.

### Where MyGymGate is stronger

Price, first. At 150 members, a year of MyGymGate is about 3% of Gymdesk's Medium plan. Second, it fits how Indian gyms already work: fees in rupees by UPI or cash, reminders on WhatsApp, and an old Android phone at the desk instead of a tablet. Third, the TV leaderboard, which Gymdesk doesn't offer.

### Where MyGymGate falls short

Gymdesk is the more complete product today. MyGymGate has no class or slot booking, doesn't collect payments (it records renewals), has no membership freeze, no gym website and no store, and the owner app is Android only (the web dashboard works anywhere). Gymdesk also has years of public reviews; MyGymGate is new.

## Which should you choose?

- **Choose MyGymGate** if you run an independent Indian gym with open-gym memberships, members pay by UPI or cash, and your real problem is people drifting away before renewal.
- **Choose Gymdesk** if your gym runs on scheduled classes, you want automatic card billing, or you run a martial arts school, and dollar pricing works for you.

Put simply, Gymdesk is the bigger product and MyGymGate is the better value for Indian open gyms. Decide which of those matters more to you. Whichever you pick, run the [gym churn calculator](/tools/gym-churn-calculator/) before and after so you know whether it's working.
